How Many Baby Blankets Do I Need?
While we may be biased, we believe that investing in a quality product like our 100% organic bamboo Cuddle Blanket makes other blankets unnecessary. Of course, a quality blanket of this caliber is not one you will want to use to protect your shoulder against spit-up. How to Use Your Baby Blanket Safely
While our cuddle blanket is the ultimate in comfort and softness, it is not designed to be placed in your baby's crib.
The American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend placing a blanket in a crib until 12 months of age. This direction is specific to a healthy 12-month-old baby, however, other agencies recommend waiting until 18 months.
The reason for this recommendation is simple-introducing any soft materials into your baby's sleeping space before 12 months increases the risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) which is the leading cause of infant death.
It is not only blankets that pose a threat to your little one. Soft toys, pillows, and crib bumpers are also not recommended for this reason.
Instead of using your cuddle blanket in your baby's crib, we recommend using the blanket as a soft landing for tummy time, to keep baby warm while on the go, or as a sweet way to comfort your little one during snuggle time.
